October 2021 — Aver Devnet Beta MVP at Solana IGNITION Hackathon
The launch of Aver’s Devnet Closed Beta was the first step in Aver’s journey. This marked the first time that participants could interact with the first MVP iteration of the Aver protocol.
In the summer of 2021, Solana launched IGNITION — a global hackathon focused on Web3, DeFi, Gaming and NFTs. With crypto pioneers and developers across the world joining, IGNITION saw nearly 6000 participants submit 568 projects to the judges.
During the 1-month long Hackathon Devnet beta, 3K+ unique wallets connected to the Devnet network, 66K+ trades were placed and 500+ members joined our community.
This was the first proof of concept and foundation for the protocol.
November 2021 — Aver wins at the Solana IGNITION Hackathon
Aver was the third-place winner of the DeFi track at the hackathon.
In just 41 days, the team learned how to interact with Web3, built a strong community and fleshed out a fully integrated DEX and betting UI.
The team received a $30k prize to kickstart the project and to build a better, more ‘production ready’ implementation of Aver.
January 2022 — Aver closes a $7.5m Seed Funding Round
In the first weeks of 2022, Aver announced $7.5m in seed funding had been secured.
The raise was led by venture capital heavyweight Jump Crypto, and drew backing from several other large players in the space, including Mirana Ventures, Susquehanna International Group, Genesis Block Ventures, Serum Ventures, Blue Pool Capital, MEXC, Gate.io, Petrock Capital and Solar Eco Fund.
The funds raised in this seed round enabled Aver to expand the core team, bring on more contributors and start to tackle the many technical, operational and legal challenges of building the world’s first platform of it’s kind.
March 2022 — Aver Launches Devnet
In March 2022, just five months after IGNITION, Aver launched a public beta on Solana Devnet.
This was the first time that participants outside the closed beta could interact with the protocol. Thanks to the extensive community feedback on Devnet, the team was able to make improvements and increase functionality of the platform.
June 2022 — Aver Mainnet Closed Beta
In June, a cohort of 250 community members were invited to join the Aver’s mainnet closed beta. This marked the first time that participants could use the platform with real funds — an enormous milestone.
The core team also received additional feedback throughout the mainnet closed beta period, which allowed the team to improve user experience on the platform.
July 2022 — Aver Mainnet Public Beta
On July 1st — after 8 months of development, iteration and testing — Aver officially launched a public beta on Solana mainnet, making history as the first truly decentralized sports betting and prediction exchange on Solana.
